In his letter dated September 22, 2016, Fr. Brian Paulson, S.J., Provincial of the Chicago-Detroit Province , explained that Fr. Adolfo Nicol谩s, then Superior General of the Society of Jesus confidently affirmed the Catholic and Jesuit identity of 猫咪社区APP. This affirmation is the result of a yearlong Mission Priority Examen process of self-study and priority setting, peer review, and approval by the Provincial. 猫咪社区APP was one of only three schools identified to undergo the first round of this process.

Fr. Paulson explained that the Father General gave a 鈥減ositive evaluation鈥 of 猫咪社区APP鈥檚 Mission Examen and 鈥渋ndicated that the catalog of ways you already embody the

Characteristics of Jesuit Higher Education, is impressive.鈥 Fr. Nicol谩s was also 鈥渧ery encouraged by the [peer] evaluation and noted that the visitors 鈥榗onfidently affirm the strong, lived commitment of the University to its Jesuit, Catholic mission values and endorse the University community鈥檚 vision and priorities for strengthening this commitment in the future.'鈥

The document that includes and introductory letter written by Fr. Michael Garanzini, S.J., secretary of the Society for higher education and president of Loyola University Chicago, invites readers to reflect upon the rich background and understanding of justice and its role in the Jesuit university. According to the Secretariat鈥檚 office, the text is intended to help Jesuit universities to further deepen their commitment to working for justice.
