猫咪社区APP Celebrates New Class of Jaguar Senior Medallion Society Honorees

Twenty-four 猫咪社区APP seniors were honored Tuesday upon their induction into the Jaguar Senior Medallion Society. Students were chosen based on outstanding academic and leadership achievements, community service, engagement and for showing Jaguar pride.
鈥淲e are very proud of what each of these students has achieved during their studies at South,鈥� said President Jo Bonner, who helped present each student with a medallion. 鈥淲e congratulate all the seniors for their service and pursuit of academic excellence.鈥�
Students were nominated and voted on by a University committee. The awards are an initiative of the Division of Student Affairs.
鈥淲e extend our congratulations to each of the honorees of the Jaguar Senior Medallion Society,鈥� said Dr. Mike Mitchell, vice president for student affairs and dean of students. 鈥淭his is the fifth year for this event, which recognizes seniors for their outstanding achievements. This Society signifies the highest level of achievement for student engagement, academics and leadership. We wish each of the honorees the best as they prepare to graduate from South. Go. Jags!鈥�
Students also were recognized for changing the perceptions of disability and accessibility, excellence in belonging and success, for overcoming challenges and obstacles, and for undergraduate research.
Students, faculty, staff, administrators, family and friends supported the honorees during the induction ceremony and attended the reception that followed the event.
